Local artists are being encouraged to apply for a new scheme aimed at helping them to further their careers. Platform 31 is a new scheme

Local artists are being encouraged to apply for a new scheme aimed at helping them to further their careers.

Platform 31 is a new scheme being launched by Local Authority Arts Offices, in collaboration with the Arts Council.

It will offer a mid-career artist in each local authority area an 8,000 bursary, as well as the opportunity to join a developmental peer network to advance and share their work.

Platform 31 is open to Irish-based artists of any discipline and practice, as well as multi-disciplinary practice and design of all kinds.

Catriona O'Reilly is the Arts Officer at Cavan County Council and she says the peer network is a vital and important element of the scheme:
