Asylum seekers moved from hotel to accommodate a function

Asylum seekers living in a hotel in Co Monaghan were forced to move to another premises as the hotel had other bookings, according to the Sunday Independent.

Currently, there are 124 asylum seekers living in Treacys Hotel in Carrickmacross, and they were forced to move out on two occasions, last year.

The hotel, which is part of the Treacy Group, is providing emergency accommodation for those living in direct provision.

However, on two separate occasions they were forced to move and accommodated in other hotels.
