The average price for land in Cavan and Monaghan is just under 7000 per acre.
The price in both counties fell compared to 2018.
In Cavan it stood at €6,066, while in Monaghan it was €7,477
Across the county, 1,331 parcels of land were sold in 2019, a fall of 20 per cent on the previous year, according to The Irish Farmers Journal’s latest land price survey.
The highest average price for land was in Leinster at €11,204/acre.
Beef farmers were buying the most in Cavan, while in Monaghan it was the dairy sector.
Brexit uncertainty and tax breaks for long term land leasing contributed to the drop.
