The Bank of Ireland in Kingscourt is to reopen later this morning after the building was badly damaged on Sunday morning. Thieves used a digger to rip the branch’s ATM from the wall of the building at around 4am on Sunday.
The building was damaged in the incident and remained closed yesterday. However, a spokesperson for Bank of Ireland confirmed that the branch would reopen to customers at 10am today, with an ATM inside the building available for people to use.
Gardaí are continuing to investigate the theft, with anyone with information urged to contact Bailieborough station or the Garda Confidential Line.
