Beechgrove Lawns residents protest over decision to cut down trees

Residents in a Monaghan town housing estate are protesting against the decision to cut down over 60 trees. Peaceful protests are taking place in Beechgrove Lawns today to prevent contractors from cutting down the 61 trees.

They say they weren’t given enough time to appeal the decision, and the majority of residents are in favour of keeping the trees. Monaghan County Council has been contacted for a statement.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, Aoife O’Connell said they want to have a conversation with the local authority on the issue.
