Belturbet Gardaí appealing for information after spate of burglaries

Gardaí in Belturbet are appealing to members of the public to keep gardening tools and outdoor equipment secure following a spate of thefts in the area.

Lawnmowers, strimmers, drills and garden tools in particular have been targeted by thieves.

Gardaí in Belturbet are seeking the public’s assistance in relation to four separate burglaries which all took place in the area between Saturday the 10th and Sunday the 11th of June last.

Between 9pm on the 10th and 11am on the 11th of June, a shed was forcibly entered at Tully Na Og in Belturbet and hand tools were stolen.

During the same time frame, another similar crime occurred at Tawlagh in Milltown – a battery fencer, car and tractor batteries and a battery charger were stolen.

At nearby Ashgrove in Milltown, during the same time period, a chainsaw and other property was stolen during a break-in at a house.

Finally, sometime between 10pm on the 10th of June and 9pm on the 12th of June, another similar crime was reported at Mullaghmeen in Milltown.

In this case, the culprits stole €8,000 worth of equipment from a locked shed beside a house.

The haul included a Honda lawnmower, a Stihl chainsaw and a red coloured Yanmar diesel generator.
