Bishop John McDowell has been elected as the new Church of Ireland Archbishop of Armagh.
Bishop McDowell succeeds Archbishop Richard Clarke, who retired last month.
The new Archbishop of Armagh said he is looking forward to serving the people of the Diocese of Armagh and the Church of Ireland.
Bishop Larry Duffy, the Bishop of Clogher, said Bishop McDowell has been of great benefit to both sides of the community and to both sides of the border over recent times.
Bishop Duffy added that is has been a privilege to work with Bishop McDowell, who he calls an authentic leader.
