Planning permission has been granted for an underground electricity transmission cable in County Cavan.
An appeal had been lodged against the development by Taghart Wind Information Group, but this appeal was turned down.
The 9km 38 KV cable will run from a wind farm substation in Taghart South, Co. Cavan, to an existing substation on the border of County Meath on the R165 southeast of Kingscourt.
The development will now go ahead subject to a number of conditions including:
Mitigation measures identified in the Environmental report must be carried out by the developer,
Traffic management and construction management plans must be submitted to the planning authority prior to the commencement of works
All works to bridges shall comply with the requirements of the planning authority.
The developer shall facilitate the preservation, recording, and protection of archaeological materials or features that may exist within the site.
An Bord Pleanala granted the permission to Taghart Energy Limited for the 9km 38 KV cable on the 3rd of July.
