Brexit is a loser for Ireland regardless of the outcome.
That’s the message from local TD Brandan Smith following the meeting of the British-Irish Parliamentary Assembly.
Brexit was the main issue discussed at the most recent gathering of the body, along with the need to see the restoration of the Executive in the North.
Fears over the potential impacts of cross border smuggling were also addressed, with Deputy Smith stating it causes untold damage to local small and medium businesses, as well as causing a loss of revenue for the economy.
