Brilliant Magheracloone Make All-Ireland Final

Magheracloone booked their place in the All-Ireland intermediate final after a wonderful 13-point win over Mattock Rangers.

Magheracloone winning out 0-24 to 1-8.

The sides were level at the break at seven points apiece with Mattock Ranges moving three points clear with a Niall McKeown goal two minutes into the second half.

However Mattock could only add a single point to the score with a Tommy Freeman inspired Magheracloone sending the ball over the bar 17 times to book a Croke Park date.

Magheracloone had moved into a four point lead early on with points from Ryan Farrelly, Barry Kieran, Tommy Freeman and Jack Doogan.

Mattock pulled it back to a four points each game on 10 minutes, Tommy freeman restoring Magheracloone’s lead before Mattock turned it around to make it 0-6 to 0-5.

Another two Tommy Freeman points including a free levelled the game at seven points apiece at half-time.

Two minutes in the second half Nial McKeown found the Magheracloone net to make it 1-7 to seven points.

However Magheracloone were devastating in the second half with four points each from Gavin Doogan and Tommy Freeman plus two each from Ryan Farrelly and Alan Kiernan.

A point each from Barry Kiernan, Alan McCahey, Padraig McMahon, Conor McKeown and Peter Tuite sealing a 24 points to 1-8 win.

Magheracloone now move to the All-Ireland intermediate final in Croke Park on Saturday January 25th.
