Cavan and Monaghan GAA supporters are being urged to allow extra journey time when travelling to Cavan for the Ulster Senior Championship Quarter Final today.
Both sides meet at Kingspan Breffni Park later this afternoon with the game throwing in at 2pm.
It’s a big day for the local region as Cavan and Monaghan go head-to-head in the Northern Sound Derby.
Gardaí in Cavan are urging fans to come early, expect delays and to respect ‘no parking’ cones around Kingspan Breffni Park.
The winners from the Cavan – Monaghan game will go on to play County Down in the semi-final off the 2017 Ulster Championship.
Meanwhile the Fitness Habit Run is being held later today, which could affect football fans heading to Kingspan Breffni Park.
The run is taking place at the Fitness Habit Gym on the Ballybay Road at 12:30pm and will travel out the Cootehill Road, through Rossmore Park then back on to the Clones road out of Monaghan town before returning to the finish line at the gym.
Motorists and supporters travelling to Cavan are being urged to be mindful of runners on the road and stewards will be there to direct traffic.
