CAB investigation continuing after five businesses raided in Cavan and Monaghan

A Criminal Assets Bureau investigation is continuing after it raided a number of businesses across Cavan and Monaghan this week.

It follows searches at 10 properties in County Monaghan last Thursday.

On Monday, CAB raided two separate solicitor’s offices in Cavan and two separate accountant’s offices in Monaghan.

A hair dressers in Monaghan was also searched.

CAB says financial documentation, property files and electronic storage devices were all seized.

It says Monday’s searches were following the searches carried out last Thursday.

They were carried out on properties linked with Christopher and Ronan Hughes who are wanted by Essex Police for their alleged link to the deaths of 39 migrants in a lorry in England in recent weeks.

CAB says its investigation is continuing.
