Ballyjamesduff residents are calling for a new bus service to connect it with other parts of Cavan.
A public meeting was held this morning to gauge the need for a Rural Link bus to Virginia, which would allow easier access to Bus Eireann’s 109 route.
There were also calls for a link to Cavan town to allow people to travel for education and hospital appointments.
Local Fianna Fail TD Niamh Smyth attended the meeting and said she’d bring the petition of over 1,000 signatures to the Dáil’s Rural Affairs Committee.
Speaking to Northern Sound News, Deputy Smyth explained what public transport the town currently has.
