Monaghan County Council have called for funding for the Annalee Respite Centre
to address the lack of facilities and provide alternative accommodation.
Councillor Paudge Connolly made the proposal at the Councils monthly meeting, while stressing that since full service was suspended in September 2017, those who
normally availed of the service could not access it.
He revealed up to 200 people who avail of the service face a two and a half
year waiting list just to get onto a waiting list for respite.
He said 800,000 to one million euro would fund the vital services.
