Clones Councillor Pat Treanor wants the test and trace systems to co-operate on both sides of the border and to see a stop to the divergent protocols currently in place.
There have been calls for more cross border co-operation and questions over a lack of contact between health organisations north and south.
Councillor Treanor's motion was supported by other council members.
However, both Councillors Sean Gilliland and Richard Truell stressed that their agreement was solely in relation to the current situation and should not see the HSE supporting the NHS.
