Campaigner urges people to keep attention on the whistle blower scandal

‘If action isn’t taken by the public, the whistle-blower issue will start to drift away’.

That’s the view of Cootehill man and social campaigner Ruairi McKiernan following a series vigils that were held outside Garda Stations around the country last Saturday, in support Maurice McCabe and other Garda Whistle-blowers.

Last week, the Dáil signed off on the terms of reference for a new Public Inquiry into the alleged smear campaign against Sergeant McCabe.

But Ruairi McKiernan says that public attention needs to stay on this issue to stop it from being gradually pushed aside.
