Castlerahan retained their Hotel Kilmore Cavan senior football championship titles after a deserved victory over neighbours Ramor United.
Oisin O’Connell’s seventh minute goal the difference in the end as Castlerahan sealed the two point win 1-9 to 10 points as Castlerahan never trailed in the game.
Ramour had closed the gap and drew level with 20 minutes remaining but points from star Cian Mackey and Karl Cosgrave retained the Cavan title for Castlerahan.
James Brady had Ramor on the scoreboard after five minutes before O’Connell smashed home a goal two minutes later.
Adrian Cole pointed a response with Killian Maguire and Cole cutting the margin to one following a response from Castlerahan’s Enda O’Connell.
Points from Shane O’Reilly (free), Oisin Kiernan moved Castlerahan clear, Ramour responding via Maguire and Brady (free).
Paul Smith and Brady (free) cancelled each other out in the added minutes to leave it at 1-5 to 0-7 when the sides went in.
Fergal Flanagan’s 40-metre effort got the holders rolling again and when O’Connell sent over a long range point it looked a closed game.
Ramour came back however sending over the next three scores to leave things even heading into the closing 20 minutes.
James Brady slotted a sweet point before Adam O’Connell fisted over a second point.
Mark Magee stormed forward to level on 40 minutes but that would be as good as it got for the 2016 winners, as Mackey settled Castlerahan’s nerves with a coolly taken point three minutes later.
Cosgrave provided what would be the insurance point as Castlerahan retained their title.
