Cavan recorded their third victory in Division two of the Allianz Football League beating Fermanagh by 2-11 to 1-11 at Brewster Park.
Fermanagh led 1-5 to seven points at the interval but a second-half goal from Thomas Galligan helped Mickey Graham’s side to a three-point win.
The sides were level at 1-2 to five points after 19 minutes with Gearoid McKiernan (three), Oisin Pierson and Oisin Kiernan on target for the visitors.
Cavan added two more points courtesy of Oisin Pierson and Christopher Conroy leaving them one point in arrears at the break.
The start of the second period was evenly contested before Cavan opened up a three-point gap in the 51st minute when full-back Padraig Faulkner found the net.
Fermanagh later reduced the margin to two points before Thomas Galligan stretched the gap to five points scoring Cavan’s second goal of the night on the hour mark.
Eoin McManus later slotted over two frees to put reduce the deficit to three points going into injury time.
Gearoid McKiernan and Ciaran Corrigan then traded a point each in injury team leaving a hat-trick of points between them at full-time.
Cavan are now top of division 2 laying down a marker to Armagh and Westmeath who’ll look to join them at the summit of the table when they face each other tomorrow.
