Cavan got their first win of their 2017 Lory Meagher Cup campaign in their final group match against Fermanagh In Brewster Park in last weekend with an impressive 4-17 to 0-17 win. It was a great way to mark their return to the competition after a 6 year absence.
They were beaten in their other ties but steadily progressed competitively in the group stages but finished the campaign strongly with Dinny Cahills side getting their goals through Kevin Coneely. John Sheanon and two from Colum Sheanon.
Former Westmeath and Roscommon Hurling boss Seamus Qualter spoke to Northern Sound sports broadcaster John Lynch about their season and he says their win will help them push on next season and that they should use Leitrims cup final appearance this season as a motivation that it is possible to reach Croke Park.
