Cavan Councillor calls for greater support to made available to victims of flash flooding

Cavan Councillor Craig Lovett has called for greater support to be made available to homeowners and businesses whose property is destroyed by flooding.

At yesterday’s Cavan County Council Meeting, the Fianna Fáil Councillor said people are suffering due to recent floodings and asked if all high-risk properties had been identified.

Councillor Lovett told Northern Sound News that he doesn’t believe all high-risk properties in the area had been identified and he urged people who believe that they have a high-risk property to contact the council.

Councillor Lovett also said that it was disappointing that no additional funding is currently available for victims of flash flooding and that first-time victims of flash flooding are at acute risk:
