Cavan county board have put any debate about a change of venue for their All Ireland semi final with Dublin to an end by releasing a statement.
Since claiming the Ulster title on Sunday past with a shock win over Donegal, much commentary has been made about taking the game away from GAA headquarters as it is perceived as giving the defending All Ireland champions an unfair advantage.
Former All Ireland winners, Oisin Mc Conville and Peter Canavan were some of those looking for a change, with former Cavan footballer Seanie Johnston also mooting the idea of the teams tossing a coin to see who would host the last 4 encounter.
However a strongly worded statement from the County board last night, has put an end to any speculation as they noted they"have never considered or have any intention of applying for a venue change for their upcoming all Ireland semi final."
The statement finishes by saying they "are honoured and look forward to playing the semi final as is fixed by the CCC."
