Cavan County Council is calling on the next Government to address the urgent need for insurance reform and regulation in the child-care sector.

Aontu Councillor Sarah O’Reilly tabled the motion, which was unanimously passed.

She told the Council meeting that “a lot of people in the sector are afraid” and raised concerns over the lack of competition in the sector.

The Aontu councillor also said that the “last government is making things too difficult for people working in child-care”.
