The Killinkere club is mourning the passing of senior team captain Lewis Fay Cooper.
The 23 year old lead his club to the Junior championship title last year as well as featuring for Cavan at underage level contesting the Ulster minor final against Derry in 2015.
Lewis who lined out at full back for his club, passed away suddenly on Saturday night with the Club releasing a statement via their social media pages on his huge loss and passing on their thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. They also asked as a mark of respect that households would put out their Killinkere flags to honour their captain.

It is the 2nd such tragedy to befall the GAA community in Cavan in less than a week with Shane Halton of Cornafean having also passed away suddenly.
The 18 year old had featured on the amalgamated side Lough Oughter Gaels as well as been part of the Cavan minor team and St Patricks College Rannafast cup winning side.
