Cavan Hospital has below average mortality rates for heart attack and stroke

Cavan General Hospital has below average mortality rates for heart attacks and strokes.

Bantry General Hospital has the highest death rate in the country for people who’ve had a heart attack. It’s followed by Portiuncula Hospital and University Hospital Kerry, according to figures from the Department of Health.

Cavan General has a death rate of 5.09 per 100 people who have had a heart attack, slightly below the average of 5.27.  For stroke, it’s mortality rate is 6.15 per 100, well below the average of 7.5.
