Cavan Hurlers Face Win Or Bust Leitrim Game

Leitrim and Cavan hurlers face a win or bust game after both sides lost their opening round Lory Meagher cup games.

Last year’s Lory Meagher runners-up Lancashire got their campaign up and running last weekend with a narrow two point win over Leitrim.

Cork man Ronan Crowley contributed 15 of the Exiles 20 point total. Gavin O’Hagan and Clement Cunniffe both notched 0-5 for Leitrim.

Meanwhile John Duffy’s nine points helped Fermanagh to victory over neighbours Cavan, who had Diarmuid Carney and John Sheanon leading their challenge with six points and 1-3 respectively.

The top two in the Lory Meagher Cup round robin stage meet in the Croke Park Final on June 22nd.

In the second round this Saturday, Fermanagh host Lancashire in Brewster Park at one o’clock while Leitrim welcome Cavan to Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada at three o’clock.

Victory for Fermanagh or Lancashire would all but secure passage to the final.
