Cavan lad makes it onto the Irish Amputee Football team

A young boy from Cavan has made it onto the Irish Amputee Football team.

Eight year old Conall Gillespie from Latt in Cavan will represent Ireland’s Junior Amputee Football team when they travel to Poland in July.  Conall was born with a birth defect which left him with his right forearm missing, however that hasn’t stopped him from becoming a football star with his football club in Dublin.

Conall has been selected as one of 6 players from the Irish Amputee Football Junior Academy to represent Ireland at this year’s EAFF Junior camp in Poland.  His mother Laura says playing amputee football with other children who have lost a limb has boosted Conall’s confidence.
