Cavan man told of wife’s cancer misdiagnosis four weeks after she died in 2008

There needs to be a radical overhaul of the health service after the ongoing cervical cancer scandal.

Vicky Phelan and Stephen Teap yesterday evening spoke to the Public Accounts Committee and called for those involved in the scandal to resign, in order for a proper investigation to be carried out. That call’s echoed by local Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth, who’s described the HSE as ‘dysfunctional’.
