Cavan's newly appointed U20 manager Damien Donohoe is hopeful that competitive action for that particular age group will return by spring.
The GAA announced earlier this week that they were delaying the return of collective inter county training till the end of the month due to the higher level of Covid 19 restrictions that have been introduced.
The National league is still scheduled to begin at the end of February in a regional format, while at minor level a number of provincial competitions from last year have yet to be completed.
The condensed nature of the calendar available to the association, has left a narrow window of opportunity to host an U20 competition but Damien is hoping the dates earmarked for it can be achieved
