Cavan and Monaghan entrepreneurs narrowly miss out on competition glory

Local young entrepreneurs have narrowly missed out on going through to the national final of the IBYE competition.

The Best Young Entrepreneur competition rewards young people from around the country for enterprise ideas they’ve developed or businesses they’ve already set up.

At the Regional final last night in Kells, two Entrepaneurs from Meath and one from Louth came out on top and are through to the National Final in Dublin in March.

Cavan’s finalists who were competing to progress through to the National finals included Kellie Cunnliffe, Daria Sadkina and Jonathon Scott.

Meanwhile Monaghan’s finalists included Colm Connolly, David Bowe and Joanna Brennan.

Over 1,800 entries were received from across the country this year – a record number.
