Cavan and Monaghan recognise work of women in politics this evening

Cavan and Monaghan will recognise the work of women in politics throughout the region in separate events this evening.

In Cavan an exhibition on ‘Cavan Women in Politics’, will be open at Cavan County Museum from 8pm. It will explore the significant role played in local and national politics by 42 Cavan women. The event will be launched by Cathaoirleach of Cavan County Council Madeline Argue and Savina Donohoe, curator at the museum told Northern Sound News the message she hopes tonight’s event will express;

Meanwhile, In Monaghan, the county museum will host an event tonight from 7pm to mark 120 years of women in local government. Minister Heather Humphreys will give the key note address at tonight’s event, with other confirmed speakers from Monaghan County Council and Dochas for Women. Catherine Lane from the NWCI told Northern Sound about the booklet that will go along with tonight’s event.
