Cavan and Monaghan Science Festival launches today

The Cavan and Monaghan Science Festival launched today with an Energy Expo in Cavan town and is the first time such an event has come to the county.

It’s the third year of the Science Festival and Carmel Cussack-Smith from the Johnston Central Library says the next two weeks will have events and talks ranging from ‘What do Babies Really Think?’ to ‘The Science of Photography’ to a family fun day.

The festival is funded by the Science Foundation of Ireland and Monaghan and Cavan County Councils and runs until the 24th of November. Science Week is happening nationwide between the 11th and 18th of November.

Carmel Cussack-Smith says the festival may also help young people decide their future career path.
