Cavan’s been overlooked in the latest tranche of funding for rural development, according to a local Councillor. The Rural Rejuvenation and Development Fund was announced in Castleblayney yesterday evening, with almost €5 million allocated for projects in Cavan and Monaghan.
Just under €150,000 of this is going to projects in Cootehill and Ballyjamesduff. However, €850,000 was earmarked for the development of the industrial lands in Cootehill in the first round of funding announced in November.
