Cavan people told not to be ashamed to seek help from local food bank

Cavan people are being told to not be ashamed about looking for help from food bank services.

A “Food Cloud” initiative was started in St Bricin’s School in Belturbet but expanded to the whole county to help those who lost their job as a result of the pandemic.

Cavan County Local Development has teamed up with Tesco Ireland, local food producers, Gardai and Civil Defence to support those who might be struggling to buy food.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, Terry Hyland from CCLD said it’s an anonymous service at this time of need.
