Cavan priest ordained as Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh everyone can help shape a modern Church

The Cavan priest ordained as Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh says everyone must help shape a 21st Century Church.

Former parish priest in Bailieborough, Bishop Michael Router was speaking at his ordination ceremony in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Armagh yesterday.

In his address to the congregation, he said the mistakes and failures of the Church in the past have caused deep hurt and pain, which caused many to turn their backs.

Bishop Router said a modern Church will be smaller and humbler but that all involved will be support the mission because they want to, and not for social or economic advantage.
