A local Fianna Fáil TD says there is “no excuse” for lack of meetings being undertaken by the Beef Market Taskforce.
The taskforce last met on January 9th and no date has been set for the next meeting.
Niamh Smyth has written to the Minister for Agriculture, urging him to set a date for next Beef Market Taskforce meeting.
She says it is “unforgiveable” that meetings have not been taking place during the covid-19 pandemic, adding that they could easily take place online.
Deputy Smyth told Northern Sound that the taskforce’s track record is “appalling” and that a meeting needs to take place sooner rather than later.
