Cavan exited the Ulster Under-20 Championship after a semi-final defeat to Tyrone in St Tiernach’s Park, Clones.
Tyrone winning out by 13 points to nine. The match was a curtain raiser to the senior qualifier game between the two counties.
Tyrone led at half-time by six points to two. By the 41st minute John Brady’s Cavan had the lead down to two. Tyrone kicked back into gear and opened up the lead to five points with seven minutes to go.
Cavan battled on but Tyrone make the provincial final with a four points win. Darragh Canavan son of Tyrone great Peter Canavan one of the stars of their performance.
Tyrone will take on Derry in next Sunday’s Ulster U20 FC decider.
