Cavan’s Kingspan Breffni is going smoke free from this weekend.
It’s part of a number of initiatives put in place by the County Board to create a healthier atmosphere for people in the grounds.
Its tobacco control policy will come into effect today, beginning with the Lory Meagher Cup and Ulster Championship fixtures this evening.
All tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, will be banned in all pitch viewing areas in Kingspan Breffni, including the covered and uncovered stand and the terraces.
Cavan County Board says the policy applies to members of the public and all officials, players, coaches and stewards and it’s encouraging anyone looking to quit smoking to contact the HSE Quit Team.
