CGH says high number of presentations to ED leading to “significant delays”

Management at Cavan General Hospital says there are significant delays in the facility because of the high number of people presenting at its Emergency Department.

In a statement to Northern Sound News this afternoon, management says the hospital is in “Black Escalation” as there are “high numbers of patient presentations to the ED and Acute Medical Assessment Unit”.

It says as a result there are significant delays and limited bed capacity.

It says the situation is being reviewed hourly and it will issue an update when the level of escalation reduces.
