Cocaine has become an “acceptable drug” across Cavan and Monaghan

Cocaine has become an “acceptable drug” in the local region.

Chief Superintendent John O’Reilly was speaking after drug possession figures in County Cavan have increased every quarter since 2018.

Simple possession in the county in quarter 3 of 2019 is up over one and a half times that of the same period last year.

Possession for sale or supply is four times higher than this time in 2018.

Speaking to Northern Sound News, Chief Superintendent John O’Reilly says attitudes towards drugs have changed.
