Communities best placed to decide where REDF funding should go

The latest round of funding under the Regional Enterprise Development Fund is being launched in Cavan today.

The €45 million fund is to support regional projects, with the aim of creating sustainable jobs. It’s the third round of the scheme, with the Digital Hub in Cavan and the planned Bioconnect Innovation Hub in Monaghan previously receiving funding.

The Powering Regions programme was also announced to compliment the 3rd round of the scheme, which CEO of Enterprise Ireland Julie Sinnamon believes localises a national scheme. She says that Cavan’s location which is close to both the border and Dublin allows for co-working opportunities.
