Concern about return of hard border after bus is stopped for passport check

A Derry man has told of his shock at being asked for his passport as he crossed the border on a bus in recent days.

Tristan Drysden was on a bus from Belfast to Dublin when it was stopped and boarded by Gardaí who asked passengers for photo ID. Translink, who were the bus operator, said that occasional immigration checks are carried out on cross-border services.
