The contracts for the development of 21 social housing units in Clones are being signed today.
The decision was made to tackle the issue of dereliction in the area, as well as the need for more social housing through this project which falls under the rebuilding Ireland scheme.
Following the receipt of funding the Ballybay-Clones MD put the project up for tender and the successful contractors, Lowry construction, are signing off on the build this afternoon.
The contractors have previously outlined an 18 month build period, however, Cathaoirleach of the Ballybay-Clones MD Pat Treanor says an exact timeline will become clearer in weeks to come.
