The Coote brothers of Bailieborough made their RTE debut this week as the film ‘The man who wanted to fly’ was broadcast on Monday.
The documentary, which follows Bobby Coote’s ambitions to fly, has now been shown in 40 cinemas across the country, and currently sits in the top 20 titles in the Odeon Cavan for the past three years. Bobby is now being hailed as a local hero, but his brother Ernie Coote has also received widespread celebrity status since the airing of the documentary.
During the filming process Ernie stated that flying was for the birds, and didn’t believe they would see his brother fly.
