Councillor voices concerns about public lighting on Carrickmacross Main Street

The lack of sufficient public lighting on the Main Street in Carrickmacross will lead to an accident.

That’s the view of Sinn Féin Councillor Colm Carthy who believes the lighting heads and lamps need to be redesigned. New lighting columns were added on the Main Street this week ahead of St Patricks Weekend but it’s believed they are still ‘insufficient’.

Members of the public and motorists have raised concerns in recent months about visibility problems on the Main Street in the town. Councillor Carthy says the issue must be fixed before there is a serious accident.
