Councillors in County Monaghan spent over €31,000 during local election campaigns

Councillors in County Monaghan spent over €31,000 during their local election campaigns this year.

Poll topper in Ballybay -Clones Seamus Coyle had the highest declaration of expenses.

The Fianna Fail Councillor spent €7,273.20.

Party colleague Raymond Aughey had the second highest expense declaration at €3,209.46.

Independent Councillor Paudge Councillor had the lowest expenses of those who won a seat in May’s election.

He claimed just €400.

Figures from Monaghan County Council show all 18 councillors spent a combined 31,180.43.
