Country will be faced with serious costs if we do not act on climate change

Mícheál Callaghan has said that as a country we must act on climate change or we will be faced with serious financial and environmental costs.

The Green Party representative welcomed the introduction of a climate action plan by the government today and said that he hopes that measures included in the plan will encourage people to make changes to tackle the growing issue of climate change.

Speaking to Northern Sound News today, he said that Ireland does not have to reinvent the wheel to tackle climate change and that while people may be concerned about the cost of implementing the proposed changes, the cost will eventually be higher if the public do not act now:
