Crosserlough And Cavan Gaels Make Semi-Finals

Crosserlough and Cavan Gaels booked their places in the Hotel Kilmore Cavan SFC Semi-finals after wins over Lavey and Kingscourt Stars.

Cavan Gaels were always in control of the day’s opening game in Lavey and led five points to one at half-time going onto lead five points to three at the break.

Gaels were always in control as they sent over four second-half points to win out by nine points to seven and setup a semi-final meeting with Castlerahan or Killygarry.

Meanwhile Crosserlough had far too much for Lavey in the final championships quarter-final although didn’t have it all their own way.

Ryan Galligan’s 12th minute goal levelling the scores 1-3 apiece after Gerard Smith found the Crosserlough net after seven minutes.

Crosserlough quickly found the next gear, Patrick Lynch’s goal helping Crosserlough to lead 2-10 to 1-4 at the break.

David Shalvey found Crosserlough’s third goal a minute into the second-half as Crosserlough cruised to a 16 point win, 3-19 to 1-9.

Crosserlough will meet Ramor United in the semi-finals played the weekending September 29th.
