St. Louis Convent, Monaghan Town and formerly Nicker, Pallasgreen, Co. Limerick.

Sr. Marie Grignon Hayes (SSL) died on Wednesday, 4th September 2024, peacefully in the loving care of her St. Louis Sisters and the staff at Cavan General Hospital.

Predeceased by her parents, Timothy and Mary, her sisters; Helena, Rosalie, Sr. Alcantra SSL, Sr Anne SSL and her brothers; Cornelius, Patrick and Jim. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sister Kathleen, extended family, friends and her St. Louis Community.

Remains will be reposing in St. Louis Convent, Monaghan from 4.30pm until 6pm on Friday, 6th September. Evening Prayer at 6pm. Requiem Mass will take place in St. Macartan’s Cathedral, Monaghan H18 W863 at 11 a.m. on Saturday, 7th September, followed by burial in Latlurcan Cemetery.

I only saw Sr. Hayes about twice a year but it was always an experience I looked forward to. She will be remembered and missed in equal measure.

Sister Marie Grignon was part of my life for 6 years in Garron Tower! I met her again in Monaghan in the early 1990s! She was wonderful lady and became my friend! I had the Privilege of spending a lovely day with her this year and I am so upset she has left us! RIP

Sincere sympathy to all the family and to all the Sisters at St Louis Convent. She was always so lovely to meet on our visits to the convent when we visited St Conla RIP. May Sister Marie Grignon rest in peace.

Very sad to here about Sr Marie Grignon's passing. She was a lovely lady who always had time for a chat when she met you. Condolences to her family and the St Louis Comunity. May she Rest in Peace
