Decrease in local incidence rates while national case numbers rise

The Government will discuss banning take-away pints when it meets this morning.

It’s after large groups of people were filmed drinking on the streets in Dublin and Cork over the weekend.

NPHET has warned the suppression of Covid-19 has stalled and time is running out before December 1st, when the country’s due to exit level 5 restrictions.

456 new cases and 5 additional deaths were confirmed last night.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Ronan Glynn says the scenes in Dublin and Cork are frustrating.

 

Despite the national increase of cases locally Cavan and Moangha’s figures continue to fall.

Cavan’s incidence rate has now dropped below 100 and is at 95.8 with fewer than 5 confirmed cases, this is down on the previous days incidence rate of 103.7 .

While Monaghan’s remains above Cavan’s with fewer than 5 cases yesterday and a rate of 120.5 a decrease from 123.8.
