A new classroom is needed for Ballyconnell National School because of an expected increase in numbers in the coming years. 175 students are currently enrolled, with that number expected to increase.
Scoil Bríde is to receive over €210,000 in funding for a new classroom from the Department of Education. It’s hoped the new classroom will be complete for the start of the school year in September 2020, with plans for a new library and sports field also on the cards.
It’ll also allow for single class classrooms which it’s said will benefit students. Principal Terence Reynolds told The Wider View that it’ll be needed:
